Great map – would get 5 stars if it was laminated – but I guess I could still do that.My son cuts out state-shaped photos once he’s been to that state, with the goal of filling up the map!

Beautiful map and larger than I’d expected. It will last for years as it’s very flexible. I bought it when my granddaughter, who is 3 yrs old, began asking questions about the various places her cousins live when they come to visit. She can locate several places on the map where each cousin lives. I believe this map will become more and more useful for her in the future. It’s both fun and educational. I’m glad to have the reminder myself of the varied amount of information you get from this map. Great purchase!!

I am an ESL teacher and wanted a map of the US to teach kids about the country through English. This works great. I can help them learn about fruits, sports, cities, etc…It is laminated and sturdy enough for my needs.

We have had 2 different US state maps in our kitchen. This one tells more information. It is less focused on the shape, location, and capitol of the state. (For that info you should go with a different colored state map where one state is yellow, another is pink, another is green etc.) On this map, the state borders are not brightly defined, so without prior knowledge of the state’s shape the states tend to “run together”– Look all like a big green background. If you want to know famous products that each state is known for then this is the map for you. If you want a better mountain representaion then this map is for you. It does label capitols, major rivers and has state flags. It is a good map to stare at and learn. And you learn lots of details! It needs to be at eye level, not up high in a far distance–too much information for distance viewing. The lamination is average for a large state map. Don’t expect it to be a “placemat thickness”. I thought that the lamination was just right for hanging on a wall and then dragging your child’s fingers all over it. It is not something that you would put on the floor and examine and not expect it to bend, fold or wrinkle.I like it.
