You cannot click on the map itself just the sides of the map work. Does not hang on hook provided at allAnd gets stuck on certain lessons and you have to press the button severalTimes to change it. Overall very frustrating to myself and 5 year old. We thought this was the same one he loves at a local kids museum we go to but sadly it is a poorly made cheaper version.

This is going to be a Christmas gift for my 11 yr old geography nut son. I did open it and found it to be as described but I have not used the interaction yet. From what I received in the mail its large and maps look really nice. I think my son is going to love it. I thought this was a nice treasure in a sea of geography stuff to find for him.

First off I almost did not purchase this based on a few reviews. But needing a few things to start our school year I got it anyway. Perhaps the product has been updated since a few of the older reviews I looked at were left. As someone noted a specific misspelling of a country and on my map it is correct. We switched to homeschool at the start of the Covid pandemic and we are on second grade now. I purchased this because my little guy is super smart but he gets so bored so fast and easily distracted.I have to admit at 39 years old myself this map has already taught me a few things I did not know as well as my son. Does he play with it all day? Of course not what kid would. But he will work with it for an hour or some times two hours each day.Once of the struggles I face as a homeschool mom is how to grab his attention with the days lessons. Keep him focused, but entertained enough that he is staying on task and learning too. This interactive map is an excellent addition to aid in our ciriculmn. It gives me a bit of break to look over other lesson plans, while keeping him engaged and learning at the same time.He is 7 (will be 8 next month) and the map is user friendly enough that he can navigate it completely on his own without me interfering. The map voice is ver clear, crisp and easy to understand. If your child plays video games a lot then they likely are not going to be into this as much as my son is. We do not have any game consoles in the house, so this was extremely cool for him and he really enjoys it.Tip: If the ripples in the map bother you then you can lay this down flat and set something sturdy but not super heavy over it for a day or two in order to get them out. This map goes above and beyond anything I was ever taught in school about other countries. Excellent value for the money with so much information included. It also comes with a book that has even more facts too. The book is a great learning tool. It has easy to understand information in smaller blurbs. This makes it more apt to be something my son will absorb and listen too. I prefer that rather than drawing out the same information for 30 minutes and he already stopped listening. It also explains things at an easy to understand level for children.I highly recommend this if you are a parent, if you want to gift it to a friends kids, if you homeschool or if you just want to start your child learning about other countries at a early age.The hook that comes with it is holding up well. I have had mine for over a month. It is rather lightweight so the hook holds it without issues. We do find that my son prefers to use it on the floor so the hook for us is more for storage than anything.

Bought this for my son, he’s 8, and loves geography. While this map has a lot of information it has *really* random information that a kid wouldn’t know. For example, it offers a quiz and I’m thinking it’s going to ask “what’s north of ___” or “what’s a country along the ___ ocean” but it’s asking “what country has the highest import of coffee and tobacco” like…? Who knows this lol The hook it comes with doesn’t stick to the wall at all not sure how they want you to mount it but I have command hooks that seem to suffice. Overall a lot of information and has all countries listed just wasn’t a huge hit with my kiddo
